Keys, almost everyone has them and they are important because they are used to lock and unlock: the doors to our houses, cars, anything that may be considered private to us.

Keys represent two things, security and authority which gives us access to things of value.

Physical keys give us access to things we value here on earth. Spiritual keys give us access to the Kingdom of God. In Romans 4:16, what is of great value is the promise of eternal life, and the key that gives us access is faith which comes by the grace of God. Romans 5:1-2.

In Matthew 16:22, Jesus gave to Peter keys to the Kingdom of Heaven upon Peter's confession that Jesus was the Son of God. This confession was by faith in Christ. Jesus gave His disciples authority over demons and devils, but the key to the Kingdom of Heaven was the security that their names were written in Heaven. Luke 10:19.

Security and authority here on earth means nothing when we die. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Truth, faith, and love are another set of keys we should add to our keychain.

They offer security and authority in this world and the next.

Our Prayer: Dear father, we thank you for life here on earth, and we thank you for your Son and our savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus, we thank you that faith in you is the most important key we will ever need which grants us security and authority in life temporal and life eternal. In Jesus name amen
